Don Baird
Librarian

| Don Baird
has training in both library research and psychology. He has
a master's degree in Library Science from the University of
Oklahoma, a master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern
University, and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the
Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He has given presentations
on humor and psychology at conferences in the United States,
England, Japan, and France. |
Versi Barnes
Librarian

has been providing library service to all age groups for more
than 30 years. Formerly with the Chicago Public Library, she
has worked at the HWC Library since 2004. |
Michelle D. Carnes
Librarian

| Michelle
holds a B.A. degree in Political Science and English from Eastern
Illinois University; a Master's degree in Public Administration
from Roosevelt University; and a Master's degree in Library
Science from Clark Atlanta University. Since 1996, she has worked
in both public and academic libraries, but especially enjoys
teaching, mentoring and providing reference services to the
students of Harold Washington College. Besides reading, traveling
abroad is her passion, which has included visits to cities in
England, the French Riviera, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, Morocco
and Spain. |
Dyane Brown
Circulation Supervisor

| Dyane
Brown began working at the Harold Washington College Library
in 2001. She started out as a work study student and was hired
full time as the evening Circulation Supervisor. Her duties
also include assisting the department chair with clerical tasks.
Her leisure time interests are watching movies, reading, and
spending time with her family. |

Roelisia Dawkins

Dawkins has worked in the HWC Library since 1975. She obtained
her A.A.S. & A.A. at Harold Washington College. She does acquisitions
for the library (pays the invoices, keeps the ledger, orders
books and supplies for the library and audio visual department,
and handles inter-library loans). Her outside interests include
community service work at her church, computers (she likes to
stay up to date with the latest in computer technology and wants
to teach MS Office when she retires), making greeting cards,
arts & crafts, floral arrangement, crocheting, and bead making.

| The HWC
Library's tech processing department is where you will find
me. I have worked in library tech processing for CCC for more
than 12 years. In the library tech processing department we
process library materials for public use. HWC's library staff
have been a great team to work with therefore it is easy looking
forward to getting to work every. I would have to say I enjoy
working here. |
Todd Heldt

Heldt holds degrees in literature, creative writing, and library
science. He enjoys poetry, literature, indie-rock, alternative/small
press publications, stunt kites, and coffee. His writing has
appeared in dozens of journals and magazines. He loves working
with the students at Harold Washington College and especially
enjoys researching politics, literature, anthropology, psychology,
art and culture. |

Sherry Ledbetter

Ledbetter has been working in libraries since she was 14 years
old. She began as a "page" in Elizabeth, New Jersey and continued
to work throughout high school. After graduating from North
Carolina Central University, she returned to Elizabeth and earned
her Master's degree from Rutgers University. She has worked
at public libraries in Newark and Elizabeth, New Jersey, Atlanta
and Baltimore, Maryland. Her career in academic librarianship
includes stints at Duke University, William Paterson University
in Wayne, New Jersey and the City Colleges of Chicago. Her subject
expertise lies in business, management, science, African and
African-American history. She loves music, especially blues
and contemporary jazz, and is an avid reader. She also loves
train travel. |

Jo Anne Mason
Audio-Visual Dept. Supervisor

| Jo Anne
Mason manages the Audio-Visual Department of the Library where
she is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department.
She works with faculty on selection of materials for support
of their courses and with the college community on any audio-visual
related needs. |
Celia C. Perez
Librarian

C. Perez has a B.A. in English and an M.Ed. in Secondary English
Education from the University of Florida in Gainesville, and
an M.A. in Library and Information Science from the University
of South Florida in Tampa. She has been a librarian at Harold
Washington College since 2002. |
Michael J. Walker
Technical Processing

| Michael
Walker came to the Harold Washington College Library as a work
study student in 1993. He worked in the Circulation area and
as a shelver. In 2000, he became a College Library Assistant
II, a full time position in the Technical Processing department.
His leisure activities include spending time with his family
and attending musical concerts (jazz). He also enjoys reading,
and his favorite author is James Patterson. |
